Plot Summary from: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (*But Were Afraid to Ask)
The film contains seven segments, related to one another only in the way that they all purport to be based on sections of the book by David Reuben. The first segment, Do Aphrodisiacs Work?, begins with Woody Allen as the unfunny jester at the medieval court of king Antony Quayle and his queen. The jester decides he must make love to the queen or die trying. Obtaining an aphrodisiac from the palace magician, he administers it successfully, but is caught with his hand in the queens chastity belt, and is beheaded. What is Sodomy? is about Dr Douglas Ross, played by Gene Wilder, who gradually falls in love with a beautiful sheep named Daisy. Why do some Women have trouble reaching Orgasm? is a parody of Italian cinema in which Fabrizio’s wife finds that she can only achieve satisfaction if she has sex in public places, which leads to disastrous embarrassment for all concerned. Are Transvestites Homosexual? Contains an average middle-aged Jewish man who sneaks upstairs to try on a dinner hostess's dresses. What are Sex Perverts? Is a parody of I’ve Got a Secret in which the panel tries to guess the perversion of the guest. In Are the Findings of Doctors and Clinics Who do Sexual Research and Experiments Accurate? Woody plays the role of Viktor Shakapopolis, from Whats New Pussycat. He visits the house of mad Dr Barnardo, only to be pursued by his greatest creation, a giant breast. In the final segment, What Happens During Ejaculation?, we watch the troubles that the control central of our bodies have to hadle during a successful seduction. Allen plays an anxious sperm (dressed in a skydiver suit) who is about to go "over the top". |
